Carla and David are from Miami, but her family is Costa Rican. So naturally, Costa Rica was the ideal place to celebrate their marriage.
I met Carla a few months prior to the wedding for a trial session and was immediately struck by her incredibly sweet and gentle spirit. I love that this came through in these beautiful photos by White Diamond.
On the wedding day, Carla was super calm. I asked if she was nervous, excited, etc. She said “No, I’m pretty relaxed.” And she was! As we sat down to start her make-up, someone suggested putting on some music. They put on a slow, romantic Spanish ballad. Within 3 notes of the song, tears started rolling down Carla’s cheeks as well as laughter from her and all of us in the room. She said “Oh my gosh, something less sentimental!” It was so funny and so cute – and I love that White Diamond caught the moment!

The time I spent with Jenna and her family getting everyone ready was a beautiful day for me. There’s no way a person could spend 7 hours in a room full of so much love and not walk away feeling all warm fuzzy inside! With Frank Sinatra and other nostalgic tunes from the 40’s and 50’s playing in the background, I did make-up for Jenna and her sister as well as both mom’s and both grandma’s. Each of the mom’s and grandma’s shared with me the stories of how they met and fell in love with their husbands, memories of their own wedding day and the admiration they had for Jenna and Brian not only as a couple, but as individuals. Family is thick in this group and the l-o-v-e department was over flowing.

Jenna left this very kind review for me on Wedding Wire:
“Tricia was amazing. From first introductions, to understanding what I wanted, her responsiveness, professionalism and overall expertise made her such a pleasure to work with! Our makeup/hair came out incredible in our pictures. I would highly recommend her :)”
Don’t get me wrong, I love bigger weddings with all the friends and family surrounding us while we’re getting the bride and party ready, however, there is something super sweet about an elopement and doing the bride’s make-up while she’s surrounded only by her super cute and spunky little girls!!
They kept scampering off throughout the house, bringing me back all the treasures (stuffed animals, animal whistles and shells) that they’d collected during their trip. Cute, cute, cute!!
Janet and Mike’s elopement embodied boho chic in everyway. From her amazing beaded hair crown to her crochet, loose, beachy gown, to the little touches, like the geometric rugs on the beach (courtesy of Kirsten of Four Winds Weddings amazing styling!). Jonathan Cooley of Costa Vida Photography captured the intimacy beautifully!
